How do you document 34 people indulging in 216 hours of untamed re.boot across the country?
You don’t. Not in a way that can do justice to the sheer outrageousness of it all.
Even with all the buzz we created leading up to the big re.boot, everyone was lingering in the ‘is this really happening?’ zone
(the
too good to be true
feeling). Right up to the final day, some of our folks were waiting for the
bakra-cam
to be casually revealed over a zoom call. Until, that is, Amit (our CEO) got on the last All-Hands of 2020 and said, “Alright guys, shutters down, Slack off, see you next year.” In that moment, it became ‘gaping-jaw’ real.
And so it began.
Bringing in 2021 had to be cathartic: it had to give a well-sanitized finger to all the nastiness wreaked by its evil big brother, 2020. We’d been given the perfect (and paid!) opportunity to do just that. We went all out. We travelled, explored, went off the grid, cooked, made music, danced all night, meditated, gathered with old friends, toasted a few dozen birthdays, weddings and reunions, and came back with bagfuls of unforgettable.
Here are a few tiny glimpses of our big re.boot (in decreasing order of our editor’s sanity).
